About Us

The newly established ‘Crime and Justice Research Centre’ will have its official  launch at the University on  Thursday 10th October 2013 at 7pm in the Stripe Auditorium.

The main guest and keynote speaker will be the highly distinguished British legal scholar and expert on the English legal system Professor Michael Zander QC, FBA of the London School of Economics; Professor Zander will address the issue of “the Problems of Miscarriages of Justice”

Other contributions at the launch will be from Professor Kristyan Spelman Miller, Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr Alan Grattan, Programme Leader for Criminology and leading journalist and lecturer Brian Thornton, both Directors and co-founders of the Crime and Justice Research Centre.

The establishment of the Crime and Justice Research Centre is to further the current developments taking place within the already established Winchester Justice Project, as well as to extend its area of interest to cover aspects of research related to the vast field of Crime and Justice. It is envisaged that the creation of the Centre will act as both a catalyst and a forum for researchers and experts to come together to share their work as active members of the Centre.
